The Sitemap View shows the structure of your website, to help you see how your pages are connected. From here you can quickly rename and re-order, create and delete items or, navigate around your school's website. You can also find archived items, which cannot be found in the navigation menus until re-published.
Whilst Publishers and Writers can View the sitemap, only Administrators can create, rename and reorder pages by default.

Hiding an Item in Sitemap View
You can hide a page so that it does not appear in the visible navigation on your site by moving it to the hidden Hidden Area in the sitemap.
Never store private or personal information within the Hidden area or any other location on your website.
IMPORTANT: There is still a chance that the page can be accessed externally. If you ever had a link directing to the page, then Google may have stored a link to the page in their servers. This means that if someone searches for the page and there was a link on the site, Google may provide a link directly to this page.
Other options available are archiving a page/item or password protecting a page by creating a secure page.
If it's a new page, or you've never had a link to the page, here is how you'd hide it within the Hidden Area:
- From the sitemap dialog, navigate to the page you'd like to hide.
- Expand the Home tab in the sitemap to find the Hidden Area.
-
Click and hold on the page you'd like to move, then drag it onto the Hidden Area.
- At this point, the page is now hidden and can only be accessed through the Sitemap View.
- You can use the Sitemap to move the page back to its original location when you're ready for the page to be viewable again.
