You can add a standard table through the editor toolbar, but if you would like something more in-keeping with the style of your website, you may prefer to use the Styled Table Template, which will use the colours of your website theme.
Inserting a Styled Table
- Firstly, click into the area of the page where you would like to add the table.
-
Click on the Templates button on the EDIT menu here:
- The Content Templates window will appear.
- Select the required template to add it to your page.
- If you would like the template to replace content already on your page, which you have selected, tick the Replace actual contents checkbox.
- Once you have added the template, the table can be edited in the same way as a standard table.
TIPS
-
Creating more Space after a template - If there isn't a space after your template, you can add a paragraph space, to allow you to add further content. Click into the content area, and hover your mouse toward the bottom of the template. A red box with an arrow will appear. Click the arrow to create space.
-
Deleting a Template
- Usually a template can be deleted simply by selecting the item using your cursor, and clicking delete or backspace on the keyboard, as with any other content on the page.
- If you have difficulty using this method, you can also remove some items by right clicking and selecting the remove div option or, you can remove it from within the Source code of the page.
-
Fixing templates that are not working as expected - This is often caused by items being copied and pasted onto a page or deleted. An example of this could be an Accordion, which will not expand as it should.
- If you need to add a new template, it is recommended to add the template afresh, rather than copying and pasting an existing one which may inadvertently edit the source code of the page.
- If you have a broken template, the best course of action is to replace it. Add the template afresh, then if needed, copy & paste the content across before deleting the original.
- If you are comfortable with editing html, you may also be able to fix the issue using the Source editor, as it is often caused by an inadvertently deleted piece of code.
