This option will only be available if your school website administrator has set up the Google Drive Integration within your website to allow access to a Shared Drive within your Google Drive. If enabled, it will allow you to select a folder from the Google Drive area through the website File Manager and, embed the folder structure into the page.
Inserting the Component
- Click the Components icon from the editor toolbar, then select the Google Drive Folder option from the list.
- Select Browse to see a list of available Shared Google Drives.
-
Select the Drive or folder to embed a list of its contents onto your page.
- Click OK to complete the process.
IMPORTANT:
Behaviour of items listed
- Google Docs Files will open in a simulated-page using the styling of your website.
- Other Google Files will open in a new window. Any permissions in your Google Drive will still apply to these files, so if the file is restricted it will not be accessible unless logged in with a valid Google Drive account.
- Non-Google documents will also open in a new window. Any permissions in your Google Drive will still apply, so if the file is not public it will not be accessible unless logged in with a valid Google Drive account.
TIP: If you are not able to share outside of your organisation in your Google Drive setup, and you would like to make the contents of the folder public on your website, it is best to ensure the folder you wish to share only contains Google Docs.
