The Data Dashboard allows you to view the student, contact & staff data which is held in your website, whether it has been synchronised from your school MIS system, or added manually. You can also view information about communications which have been sent.
The data dashboard can be found within the add-ons tab, if you have any of our MIS-enabled add-ons enabled, such as Parent Portal, Parents Evenings, Email or Text Messaging.

Checking your synchronised data
When synchronising data, the dashboard can be used to verify your data has synchronised correctly. If anything is missing or incorrect, you should check the data has been entered correctly in your MIS system. Here are some tips, to help you with this:
- Each parental contact needs to be added in their own right, one contact record for each parent, with their own contact details.
- To ensure that you only communicate with the right contacts, only those marked as parentally responsible will be pulled through to the add-on tools, so you will need to make sure all your parents have been marked as parentally responsible.
- It is crucial that anyone who has a court order preventing them from being contacted is marked correctly in your MIS, to ensure they are not pulled through as contacts.
- Staff emails should be entered as work email addresses, to ensure the correct one is pulled through.
- You may also want to check that staff are allocated to the correct groups in your MIS system, as these groups will be synchronised through to the add-ons for use within the tools.
Searching for data
- Click on the Data Dashboard block to access your data.
- Once you are in the Data Dashboard, you can select to view Student, Contact or Staff information.
- You can search by entering part of the pupil, contact or staff name; and you can use the filters at the top of the page to narrow down your search. Click the spyglass once you have entered your search criteria.
Viewing Pupil Records
- If you choose to view a pupil through the dashboard, you will be able to see:
- linked contact details
- classes
- groups
- parents' evenings they have been included in
- recent emails & text messages sent
- reports shared through the Parent Portal
- Anything Parents' Evenings, Communications or reports listed, will appear for the contacts of the pupil when they log in.
Adding additional Groups
Most MIS systems allow you to create additional groups, which can be synchronised to your website, and this is the most effective way to keep your groups up to date. However, if this is not possible, for example, if your recipients are not held in your MIS system, you can manually add recipients and groups.
Email & Text Messaging Delivery Status Information
Email & Text message status information is updated overnight, so you can check for message failures the following day.
- Click on the Data Dashboard block to access your data.
- Once you are in the Data Dashboard, you can select to view Email or Text Messaging.
- Set the date range you wish to search.
- The charts will show the number of items in each status.
- The list beneath will show the individual emails, with the number of failed messages.
- Open an item to see more details about the message, including any recipients the message failed to send to
