Your website can integrate with Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. You can share any page, news story or blog and have it appear on your social media website as a post - without having to log in separately to your social media accounts!
Social Media Settings
If enabled by Juniper Education, your website can integrate with Facebook and Twitter. You can share any page, news story or blog and have it appear on your social media as a post.
If you can't see the Social Media options, ask our Support Team to switch them on for you.
To configure your social media settings:
- Select Social Media from the Website tab. A drop-down will appear containing the following options:
Share Settings
- Click Share settings.
- On the Social Media Settings window, update your website address by typing into the text-box provided. If you use more than one website address, enter your main one.
- You can choose to share items by default. To do this tick the required options at the bottom of the dialogue. If you do so, you will still be given the option to skip posting to Social Media when you save an item on the website.
Integrate Twitter
- Select Social Media from the Website tab.
- Select Twitter account.
- On the Twitter Authorisation Settings window, click Authorise access to Twitter.
- You will be prompted to log in to your Twitter account.
Note: This application will allow users of your website to post content to your Twitter account via the Content Management System (CMS).
The application will be able to:
- Read Tweets from your timeline.
- See who you follow, and follow new people.
- Update your profile.
- Post Tweets for you.
The application will not be able to:
- Access your direct messages.
- See your Twitter password.
- When your website has been authorised to access Twitter, a green box will appear to inform you the website is authorised. You can revoke the authorisation at any time by pressing the Disassociate with Twitter button.
Integrate Facebook
In order to share content on Facebook, your school must have a Facebook page. For more information about creating Facebook pages, take a look at Facebook's guide and video tutorial - https://www.facebook.com/business/learn/set-up-facebook-page.
- Select Social Media from the Website tab.
- Select Facebook account.
- On the Facebook Authorisation Settings window, click Authorise access to Facebook.
- You will be prompted to log in to your Facebook account. Your Facebook account must have access to your school's Facebook page.
- On the next window, click the school's Facebook page.
TIP: Ensure your Facebook account has permission to post to your school's Facebook page!
- When your website has been authorised to access Facebook, a green box will appear to inform you the website is authorised. You can revoke the authorisation at any time by pressing the Disassociate with Facebook button.
Integrate Instagram
In order to share content on Facebook, your school must already have created an Instagram account.
- Select Social Media from the Website tab.
- Select Instagram account.
- On the Instagram Authorisation Settings window, click Login via Facebook.
- You will be prompted to log in to your Facebook account. Your Facebook account must have access to your school's Instagram page.
- On the next window, select the Instagram page you would like to post to.
- When your website has been authorised to access Instagram, a green box will appear to inform you the website is authorised. You can revoke the authorisation at any time by pressing the Disassociate with Instagram button.
Permissions to Share to Social Media
If the users that you would like to post to social media are not site administrators, you may wish to give them permission to share to Social media, by creating a custom security role.
