2FA is an extra layer of security used to make sure that people trying to gain access to an online account are who they say they are. First, a user will enter their email address and a password. Then, instead of immediately gaining access, they will be required to provide another piece of information.
Switching on 2FA
To switch on two-factor authentication
- Go to the Website Tab> Settings> Website Settings> Two Factor Authentication
NB If you do not see this option in your website settings, please contact our Support Team who can enable this for you.
- Select how you would like to enforce 2FA from the following options:
- Disabled No users will be see the option for 2FA and will be unable to set this up. Should anyone already have 2FA enabled, this will be removed.
- Optional Users will see the option for 2FA and will be able to set this up if they desire.

Enforced Users will see the option for 2FA and will be forced to set this up next time they log in.
- At the present time, two-factor authentication can only be set up for accounts created through the User Manager in the CMS.
Logging in with 2FA
- Users will be prompted when they next login to set up authentication by selecting to use an app, or receive an email.
- Once they have set up 2FA, they will be required to enter a code each time they log in to your site.
