Sometimes the connection between third party products can be disconnected when third parties make changes or updates to their systems. This means that these connections sometimes need to be re-established.
Disassociating Facebook
First you will need to disassociate your Facebook account from your website.
Please note: Before you disassociate your Facebook account you need to make sure that you have the credentials to be able to log into the Facebook account that you are wanting to link to your website.
- You can disassociate your Facebook account by scrolling down to your news feed on the homepage of your website.
- There will be a Facebook button next to where your Facebook feed is that will allow you to connect your website with your Facebook account and may look like one of the following types of buttons:
- Click on the button that is visible on your website.
Please note: The button style may vary to the above depending on the template that your website uses.
- Once you click on this a dialogue box will appear where you will have the option to click on the grey button which reads 'Disassociate with Facebook':
Authorising access to Facebook
Once you have disassociated your Facebook account from your website, you will then need to re-authorise access by following the steps below:
- Click on the Facebook button on your News feed.
- On the Facebook Authorisation Settings window, click Authorise access to Facebook:
- You will be prompted to log in to your Facebook account.
Please note: Your Facebook account must have access to your school's Facebook page.
- On the next window, select the school's Facebook page that you are wanting to link.
TIP: Ensure your Facebook account has permission to post to your school's Facebook page!
- When your website has been authorised to access Facebook, a green box will appear to inform you the website is authorised. You can revoke the authorisation at any time by pressing the Disassociate with Facebook button.
